Gio Ramos

Graduate Student

University of California, Los Angeles

Gio received degrees in psychology from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and Florida International University (FIU) before joining the clinical science program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The purpose of his research is to reduce the mental health disparities that affect racial/ethnic minorities with an emphasis on Latinx mental health. Through quantitative and qualitative methods, he focuses on two interconnected areas: 1) examining innovative ways to deliver mental health care, such as technology-based interventions, brief treatments, and paraprofessional-led programs; and 2) theory-informed, but data-driven approaches to the provision of culturally robust mental health treatments.
